Frampton Associate Flight
Many thanks to all the full members who turned up on the 4th January for the clubs organised associate flight at Frampton marsh, your assistance was greatly appreciated. There was a high turnout of full members on the evening which meant a good full member to associate ratio, It was good to see so many full members giving their time to guide our newest club members on the start of their own journey with the GWCA, so once again many thanks to everyone for all your help on the flight.
AGM Date
The date for the clubs AGM has now been set for Wednesday 25th March, the venue will once again be the Anchor Inn, Epney The meeting will start at 7.30 prompt.
Please come along if you can and hear what your committee has been doing for you all as members of the club over the past twelve months and the plans which we have in place for the coming year.
If you want to ask any questions regarding how the club is run on your behalf or have any suggestions then please feel free to speak on the evening, if you have any proposals etc please submit these to the committee prior to the AGM for inclusion
West of England Game Fair
The West of England Game Fair will take place over the weekend of 21-22nd March and as in previous years the GWCA will have a presence at the show along with other regional wildfowling clubs.
If you feel that you can help on the clubs stand during this event on either day then please contact Ian Whitehall salopbeck@hotmail.com to let him know you are willing to volunteer your help.
Anyone offering their help for part of either day will gain free entry to the show so will also get the opportunity to see the arena events and traders.
Great Shires Game Fair
Some of you may remember the inaugural Great Shires Game Fair which took place in 2018 and at which the club had a presence on the BASC stand.
Although here was no show last year there will be another Great Shires Game Fair this year and as in 2018 the GWCA have been offered space to promote the club and wildfowling in general.
The event will be held at the Three Counties showground, Malvern on 18-19th April and as with the West of England event the club will be looking for volunteers to assist with running the stand for either of the two days.
If you are able to offer your help on either the Saturday or Sunday then please contact Ian Whitehal salopbeck@hotmail.com l to let him know of your availability, as with the West of England show anyone assisting will gain free admittance to the show
End of Season Supper
This year the club will be holding an end of season supper for all members and their partners / families, which should be a good opportunity for us all to swap stories of our own seasons highlights and catch up with other members of the club.
The supper will be held at the Anchor Inn, Epney (same venue as the AGM) on Saturday 29th February starting at 7.30pm
As well as the supper itself there will also be an auction of sporting lots including wildfowling flights kindly donated by other clubs and stalking days etc.
Everyone's welcome and tickets for the evening will cost £18 for the meal (drinks extra), please contact Ian Whitehall salopbeck@hotmail.com if you're interested in attending what sounds like a great social event in the clubs calendar, or if you have any additional lots you feel would be suitable for the auction.
